Positive Purchasing, Royal William Yard, Plymouth

  • Location : Royal William Yard, Plymouth
  • Client : Positive Purchasing

SageRowe was delighted to be awarded the development of prestigious new offices for Positive Purchasing in the heart of the Royal William Yard, a disused former naval yard in Plymouth. Royal William Yard is a Grade I Listed regeneration site comprising of accommodation and commercial space.

Positive Purchasing is a global consultancy and training company with their Head Office in Plymouth. The development of the offices was located within a Grade I Listed building called Mills Bakery. The history of the building required the work to be undertaken with care and excellence to standards regulated by English Heritage ensuring that the existing structure was not compromised in any way. Throughout the installation process every step of the works had to comply with stringent conservation regulations.

A brief list of some of the works carried out:

  • Floating partition walls - not permanently affixed to the main structure
  • Suspended ceilings
  • Air conditioning and air handling systems
  • Natural slate flooring
  • Bespoke kitchen with solid oak joinery and elegant staff washrooms

The design of the interior conversion is both classic and contemporary, and is in keeping with the style of this historic building and conservation project.

The team at SageRowe is proud to have worked closely with Positive Purchasing on their new Head Office and wish them continued success in the future.

We needed to appoint a contractor that could work within the constraints of our grade 1 listed building but who could also realise the architects vision to create an innovative and outstanding working space that reflects our brand. This build provided a series of technical challenges including creating our sound proof studio complex for our on-line video production and working closely with our technical teams to incorporate a complex M&E installation. I am hugely appreciative of the work that SageRowe did as not only did they deliver a high quality, on-time and budget construction project but they were flexible, adaptable and able to work with all the parties involved to overcome a series of difficult challenges with no impact to the overall job. An exceptional and refreshing experience from a construction company.
